Only a few days before the release of Share2Steem v1... We're working hard making the last adjustements.
This may be the last opportunity for us to talk to you about the new features before D-day. Today we're going to tell you about accounts management and post customization.
Accounts management
The first novelty of the accounts management will be the ability to link multiple social accounts of the same type, ie. multiple Instagram accounts, to be cross-posted to one Steem account.
It is indeed possible to redirect as many instagram (or Youtube, Twitter and other social media outlets soon) feeds to a unique Steemit account. Share2Steem v1 offers a place to manage all your accounts and allows you to be warned if one of them is not validated, for example.
If your account is not verified, you will be led to the wizard explaining how to verify your account step-by-step as it is in the guide for the newcomers (verification that is now done without the need to post anything, just by editing for a few seconds your social media's profile).
If your account is verified, you will be redirected to your account's settings page (that is presented just below).
Posts customization
We have also been asked to allow post customization. Until now, the posts were formatted in a specific way, and users had to edit the posts after they were published to make them look like they wanted to. With the RC cost of a comment, it is now very expensive to do so for every post, so the new post customization system will ensure your post is directly the way you want it to be.
We worked hard to allow custom formatting. In other words, you can now arrange elements as you want, add your own sentences, custom footer etc. Everything you add just needs to be supported by the Steemit formatter (hence Markdown or HTML). If it works on Steemit, it will work here. If no custom body is defined by the user, the application will format the post as it was formatted before v1.
In the beta version, you were already able to edit titles. But we have not been clear enough about the way to do. Now everything is explained step by step. And a warnings system is now in place to ensure you understood the customization rules.
But now you can also edit the body of the post. You can place the elements where you want, for example your Instagram avatar before or after the post, as you want. But you can also add your own text, create a custom footer, add links etc.
Finally you can now delete an account, this operation cannot be undone. Your Instagram / Twitter / Youtube account will be deleted off our database (of course you will still be able to link it again at your convenience).
Next time
Time has come for us to concentrate on the final details before the v1 release. Of course, some things may be fixed after that, such as typos or misspellings (remember english is not our mother language), but we are sure the user experience will be infinitely better with this v1.
Finally, we just have to warn you the service will be down during deployment, so Instagram, Twitter and Youtube posts won't be published during this time. Existing accounts won't be impacted by the deployment and will work normally after that.
So see you soon, for the v1 release announcement !
