A "mental" U.S. lawmaker has called for a blanket ban on cryptocurrency buying.
Those who are familiar with the news will be aware of how much hate US officials have for crypto, and I have come up with 3 reasons as to why they behave this way.
1: The older people who work in the US office have no idea how digital "money" works. I don't mean this apply to every old people in office, but it seems like a lot of the older generation have problem grasping the concept of digital cash, how blockchain work, and how they can put a value in something that does not exist physically.
2: They hate cryptocurrency, because they cannot control it, like (US dollars), and they won't be able to get away with the fraud, money-laundering, mis-use of public funds and etc anymore. Talk about provenance, the beauty of cryptocurrency enabled by the BLOCKCHAIN technology.
3: They are spreading FUD themselves so they can buy the cryptocurrency at a cheap rate. They know that blockchain is going to stay whether they like it or not, and they want to grab as much coins as they can before it takes off. The public who aren't as educated as us (Steemians) in the field of crypto just take whatever the media and politicians say, and most of the people I talk to have no fucking clue about cryptocurrency.
Personally, I don't think these people in office are stupid, and number 3 is the most likely factor. What do you guys think? Comment below.
Also, this is the best argument to counter those "retards" who say crypto should be banned because (they think) MOSTLY criminals use it:
Criminals also use automobiles, guns, gold, oil, and they also eat food and drink water as well. Why not ban everything? (:
