You posted something beautiful or very interesting
but I did not vote you!
Why?
I will, rarely, vote a post with just a photo, but the truth is, I do not like posts that just have a photo.
I come to Steemit so as to interact, which is why on many of the posts I vote for, I also leave a comment. Complimentary or critical, at least you know how I feel and you are then free to respond and maybe help create an interesting conversation.
I have a preference of communicating with a human being. For instance, if I were to visit you at your home and you had gone on holiday to another country, would you just show me one or two of your chosen pictures, without explanations or comments, or would you tell me, 'Hey man we went to Mt Kilimanjaro and climbed to the top and walked in the snow - on the Equator! Here take a look, this is when I first saw the crater and it blew my mind."
Slightly more interesting (and real) isn't it, compared to just sticking your photo under my nose? Why should it be any different when posting on Steemit?

Have you discovered some interesting information that you want to share? Why just stick a link under my nose and expect me to click on it? Tell me a bit about it, maybe even your opinion of it. The second and equally pertinent question, is, if you said nothing to interact with me and I clicked on the link, why would I bother to return to your post...just so as to upvote you? I might want to come back to flag you if you wasted my time, but the truth is, I will move on with my life and forget about you. However, if you made a comment, I might want to return to agree or disagree with you...so you are more likely to get my vote.

Express yourself, do NOT just paste and copy!
Express yourself, do NOT just paste and copy!
If it is not ready to be read, then you are destroying your chance of making a name for yourself as a good writer.
Do not just proof-read it once. Leave it for 24 hours and then read it again, carefully, looking for mistakes. Nobody will get upset if you make a mistake, but if you make one in every second sentence, you piss off everybody.
If English is not your language but you want to post in English so as to get more readers (and votes), you will fail if you do not check carefully for mistakes.
For instance: Maybe your web translater did a fairly good job of translating, but, although you are writing about your son, you keep referring to him as a 'she or her'. It leaves us confused. Are you really writing about your son, is it a daughter? If I think of him as a daughter, does your story start to sound stupid? Why then do you expect me to upvote?
What I am saying is, treat each post as being important, as presenting an image of you and how you think (or even, whether you care). Do your best and it will show and we are far more likely to want to reward you - with this picture forming in our minds:

PS: I read through this post three times, made about eight corrections and added some explanations, but I bet that I left in some mistakes. I have the knowledge, but sometimes my fingers do not listen to me and it seems my eyes side with my fingers, pretending they cannot see the mistakes. It happens to all of us and it is why I say, leave it for correcting later on...
HELP make me WANT to vote for you - please
