A while ago this is a topic that I wanted to talk about because it is surprising how the seed of prejudice that society has sown us does not allow us to reason the simple fact that if two people love each other there is nothing wrong about being together and getting married, it is not a whim, sin or aberration that the love and union of two people be recognized before the law or religion.
Marriage is something that gives rights and privileges to both, why deny these rights to these people because of their sexual orientation if at the end of the day we are all human?
Something that bothers me is to hear that the example this would give to '' our children '' would be bad, as if it were very good for the children to grow up rejecting those who are different from them, being intolerant and prejudiced; Something we should worry about more is the example we give to children when in television and social networks are promoted behaviors such as vice, prostitution, drug trafficking, adultery and promiscuity; These apparently are more accepted things than the fact of seeing two homosexuals kissing, showing affection or holding hands.
Homosexuality is not something that belongs to human beings, did you know? Studies in biology have shown that it is something that usually occurs in many other species, due to overpopulation. Whatever the cause of why person is homosexual, whether genetic, birth, development, parenting, there is something that is a fact, it is something that we can not change, and who are homosexuals will be all their life, accept it or not, torture it, medicate it, pray it, exorcise it or make it impossible for it, that person will be homosexual his whole life. do you have any idea of all the "treatments" and procedures, that have suffer the homosexuals in the history of humanity?
Homosexual people are often labeled as perverts and depraved, have you ever wondered why? a homosexual couple is the same as a heterosexual couple, having sex in a "different" way to yours does not make them depraved.
depraved is your mind.
It is also a fact that many studies have shown that homosexual couples tend to be more stable and lasting, while the daily bread of most heterosexual couples are: discussion, abuse, infidelity and abandonment.
So, what are you opposed to? To the freedom of two people who in spite of adversity and rejection by society, struggle to be together and happy?
All this hatred towards homosexual people has only generated more hatred, resentment and rejection by homosexuals to other people, while you think that this is not "natural", "correct" or "normal" is something that you can not change, you could be the one who for some reason was born homosexual or grew up homosexual; Those who oppose only demonstrate their lack of empathy and tolerance to those who do not fulfill their ideal of person.
People have to understand that everything changes, that what many years ago was intolerable, unacceptable or frowned upon today are normal things. Opposing to changes only slows the progress of humanity. few years ago couples did not kiss until they got married, sex before marriage was an act of dishonor, show the body was a sin, people bathed on the beach with super-covered bathing suits, so today we are all about shameless scoundrels?
Is it so difficult to understand that change are normal and that many things we do now in the past were frowned upon?
Homoparental Adoption
There are people who strongly oppose to homosexual couples adoption or that they resort to any means to have children; the hypocritical of society is that while there are heterosexual parents who procreate without conscience, who have vices, who are irresponsible, abusers, have little education and resources and their pregnancies were unplanned nobody opposes or complains that these people '' raise '' children. The opposite happens when two homosexual people want to adopt, exposing as a solid argument the "bad example" that would be giving to a child by having gay parents, or thinking that possibly that child "grows homosexual" to follow the example of his parents, what irony! What a bad example !, taking into account that if children were guided and obtained their sexual orientation from their parents then there wouldn't exist homosexuals who came from heterosexual parents, which are the most.
Of course it is better for an orphaned or abandoned child to spend their entire life in an orphanage, or be raised by incompetent parents or relatives, than to be adopted and raised by two healthy people who love each other and have a true desire to care for and be parents.
What is really important for a child is to receives love and a good quality of life, it is not the sexual orientation of the parents what makes a child happy but the attention and love provided.
Homophobic people argue that this will take us to the end of our species, something very funny in my opinion, do you have any idea how many people are in the world and how many of them still reproduce as rabbits? and in that case, what would be the problem if those children for one reason ''become homosexual"? in a society and planet where overpopulation is killing us, and with the reality that in a few years our lifestyle will be almost impossible to maintain due to the depletion of natural resources and environmental pollution.
Opposing the love of two people only demonstrates the primitive thinking that many societies still possess, when before a rich person could not marry a poor person because of their unacceptable social status, or when white people could not marry Afro-descendants because it was wrong seen and considered them inferior; Nowadays this continues to happen, in the case of equal marriage.
It is no coincidence that the most developed countries are those that today have allowed equal marriage and homoparental adoption to be legal and possible. We are the ones who must fight against discrimination or prejudice in our societies.
