The automated 1UP curation trail is a hivemind solution for effective and lucrative curating of quality content which has the highest relavance for the Steem and Utopian collective on every single day. This system is designed to combine the moderated @utopian-io upvote bot with early upvotes on the highest ranked posts on Utopian.io. Through the following big upvotes this process becomes very lucrative for all trailers in form of higher curation rewards.
Unique Upvote System
To allow users on Steemit, Utopian and Busy to participate in the 1UP system a new 1UP button will be implemented into all valid posts via the @steem-plus browser extension from @stoodkev. Each user with a reputation of at least 45 will have one single 1UP per day. The button will only appear on new posts which have not been disapproved by a moderator and have not yet received the @utopian-io upvote. Self-votes are not allowed.
When a post receives a 1UP it will be listed on a special 1UP ranking page. Posts with multiple 1UP's will rank higher and when they reach a certain threshold they will automatically trigger the @utopian-1up curation trail. Posts below that threshold can be upvoted manually by the 1UP team when they comply with the 1UP standards.
Endorses Relevant Content
The scarcity of the 1UP vote with limiting it to just one per day will hopefully create a great responsibility for the voters and hence endorse only the most relevant content they can find. Rewarding quality contributers with the 1UP upvote strength will make their work even more worthwhile and send a signal to the entire community to create better content.
People will strive to make a 1UP worthy contribution and specialize on topics that pleases the hivemind. This will create a positive dynamic for the entire ecosystem of Steem and open source projects. The more people who follow the trail the more powerful this dynamic will become!
Bounty Program For Developments
The second big function of 1UP is the Bounty Program. We will use 1UP's as rewards for requested developments. Currently we have this already in place for the 1UP development and the graphic contributions. If a task is requested by the 1UP team it will always receive the 1UP upvote and the big Utopian upvote as well. The combination of Steem and Utopian.io makes this possible.
In the future we will open the bounty program to promising projects for the Steem blockchain. This will bring the power of 1UP to the entire Steem ecosystem and functions as an accelerator for Steem developments. And since all contributions always are Utopian posts it will stay lucrative for all trailers at any time. Details of the 1UP Curation Trail
We will always strive to burn 20% voting power every day with the 1UP account. To regulate the system we will need to limit the automatic 1UPs per day. This will require some adjustments over the first few weeks. One of the variables is the voting power we use for each 1UP and another is how many 1UP's will trigger the automatic vote. To avoid gamification we will observe closely what happens and create new rules as we go.
If you consider to follow the trail make sure to adjust your settings exactly as you can spare. If you automatically follow the weight of 1UP you will have no more voting power for anything else if you want to keep equlibirum. You will end up with 80% every day and regenerate the missing 20% in the next 24 hours. However, it might be more suitable for the majority of trailers to adjust the weight to a fixed amount.
Here are some suggestions. Keep in mind that the higher your weight is the higher your curation rewards will be.
