Encrypted "Read only" option should be added to kolab notes application. Read through to see why.

Kolab notes allow users to organize and save notes, texts ,articles etc. It is an open source application with a very swift, simple and easy to use interface which makes it really preferable compared to other similar apps, Unfortunately, this app lacks the "read only" option which makes the editor tool accessible to third party user.

Proposal

I suggest this feature be added so when users toggle it on, the editor tool hides thereby securing the notes or articles from being edited by a third user. This function leaves the notes or articles on a "read only" mode so one does not edit them accidentally. This feature should be programmed in a way that it could be encrypted. This way, third party user can't deliberately edit any note without the owner's consent.

The below screen shot shows where the suggested function should be placed on the application to best suit it's purpose.

When clicked on the toggle read only button, user should be able to activate it with a security pin or pattern to totally limit third party access.

Benefits

The suggested feature would secure users files from being edited by third party user either accidentally or deliberately when the "read only" mode is activated and encrypted. The users of this app would definitely benefit from this and the brand gets bigger when such needs are met.
