Components
Privacy Friendly Pain Diary also know as Pain Diary is an app that help users track and share their pain.this app can be downloaded here.
the component i want to talk about here is the lake of privacy in the app and also, the fact that some records in the app does not tally with the PDF format of the same data when exported. and because of these, i want to suggest the bellow.
Proposal
I want to propose that 1. the app should have some privacy and 2. the data on the PDF should reflect the exact data entered in the app.
- the data on the PDF should reflect the exact data entered in the app.: it is not uncommon for an individual to feel a pain just on the front part and do not feel same pain in the back. for example one can have a chest pain just in the front chest but does not feel same pain in the back. but i noticed that if one tick having pain in just the front part and ignore the back side because he feels no pain there, when such data that you entered in the app is exported to PDF format, the PDF will mark that such user is having the pain in both front and back side. this action gives wrong information about the location were the user feels the pain. thus i am suggesting that the data on the PDF should reflect the exact data entered in the app.
- Privacy : Given the nature of the information that this app is meant to store, (private information about users health), i STRONGLY believe that adding some privacy to this app will make it leave up to its name "Privacy Friendly Pain Diary". this feature will prevent unwanted users from gaining access to the medical data of users.
this feature can be added by just app privacy to the setting and when clicked on, it should take users to a new window were they will configure the privacy.
Mockups / Examples
data entered in the app. please note that the pain was marked just front because that was what the user entered.
How the same data appeared in pdf file. please note that the pain location is marked front and back.
How it should actually be in PDF

how it should look when launched
Benefits
protecting the app with PIN will help secure the app from people who are not meant to see them.
If data on the PDF reflect the exact data entered in the app, it will help the end user (possibly a medical personnel )of such report to make appropriate recommendation and give a fitting treatment . It will also help to avoid misinforming the end users about location of pain.
