Sorting files into categories to be included in simple file manager

Introduction

Simple file manager is an open source apps for working with files and directories. It's an easy to use file manager and best of all, has no ads.

Function found missing

Making comparison with some other file managers like the native file manager on my Tecno K7, and ES file explorer alike, I noticed that simple file manager lacks the sorting of files into categories such as music, pictures, documents, videos, apps, and the likes.
Below are screenshots of these feature in both file managers i mentioned earlier respectively.

My Suggestion

The app should get to have the feature in its homepage. This would make it easy to have access to files in a particular category directly, other than now searching through the whole storage directory for a particular type of file.

The feature can be placed in the app in the area suggested in the screenshot above.

conclusion

Sorting into categories would surely help users of simple file manager get easy access to files once they know the category to find it. This would reduce the need to start searching through all directories for a particular type of file.
