Standard Notes is a note taking application that puts particular emphasis on privacy & security. It is cross-platform and of course, completely open-source. It features unmatched simplicity, end-to-end encryption and powerful extensions.
Proposal
When writing down a note, the category option help users to add a particular notes to the right category. For example, if they are writing about family. They can add the notes to family under the category option. I propose that the developers of Standard Notes should add the category option to the app which users can categorize each note for better and user experience.

The category icon should be added to the menu bar to make it easy for the users to choose the category they want to add their note.
When you click on the category icon on the menu bar shown on the first screenshot, the category options will pop up like this on the screenshot below..
From the options you can now choose which category you want to add your note..
Benefits
If this is being implemented, it will help the users identify, differentiate where each particular note were being stored. And it will also give a good and easy guide for people going through your saved note because it will guide them on where to look and where not to look.
