Today I present you some awesome music from across the spectrum and the world. Why? Because these are great songs.
Original photo of a sunset, by me, made a bit more green as clickbait to get you to open your mind to some new music...
I hope you enjoy this mix, it goes from Jazz, to folk music, to dubstep, rap, rock, metal and from around the world. Mostly likely you never heard some of these songs. Give it a go and hope you enjoy! Some have "cool" videos, and some are just music.
Hope you enjoy because music is great and is better than work! Drop a line below if you like any of these in particular.
I - los jaivas - todos juntos, (Chile) totally bad ass chilean group, exiled
during the military junta to france... still going strong:
II tennis court, lorde (NZ), bad ass original track, popish good.
remix is badass by Flume, remix from Oz ('strayla - Australia)
III. 1977, ana Tijoux (Chile/France), mad flow, giver. Parents exiled to
France from Chile during the junta (e.g. 1973)... shuuush.
IV. how soon is now, Tatu (Russia), ok not from the south, but awesome. Best
morrasy song ever, kind of randomly cool.
V. jealousy, aka, (R.S.A.), AKA is talented and has that Saffer randomness
that is tough not to like... dyslexic but sounds good loud... and you can
own this song for only 5 rand!
some of the lyrics are epic (bad? good? great?)
VI. Gusheshe, Cassper Nyovest (R.S.A.), lets stay in africa. Cassper is also
awesome, if he was in north america or europe he would be huge, like the
diploesque (kwaito more likely)... probably one of the most awesome sounding track
here... when i heard this in joburg, I was like... snap..
VII. pursuit of happiness, lissie, (North america), kid cudi cover...
(original is classic of course).
VIII. La rosa de los vientos, Makiza (Tijoux's band, Chile/France), very cool
track. tribe called quest flow... ah, yeah.
IX. feeling good, nina simone (North america), so old it's new... still hip
after 50 years.
X. rastaman, bunny wailer (jamaica), just a beautiful chill song from the
islands...
XI. air, snakadaktal (Oz), at least something comes out of that place
besides sheep shaggers (joking)... go triple j!
XII. peruvian cocaine, Immortal technique (North america), a good mate of mine gave me this,
you rock mate, this song never gets old. love the references
to the wire...
XIII. Kojo no tsuki, thelonious monk (north america), arguably my
favourite jazz song of all time.
Bonus (not part of the mix, but awesome in a random german way) - especially if you like metal/ glam rock / or classic Japanese folk songs. Or both of them together. Maybe my fav here.
Super bonus: Betaab, jam hum... great classic indian tune... (BONUS). I've been
working with a bunch of awesome Indians in the past couple of years and with
my head bopping side to side I can't help but love this one..
(namaste)
@snowyknight copyright words and this original mix was generated to make people happy and take a break and enjoy the tunes. Is it my best mix, no, but these songs here are cool in their own ways.
Sometimes I also write about other topics like bots or technology or haiku or photography.
Speaking of which a final haiku for, well you.
Music music now, listen to the sounds clearly, happiness is here.
If you have any thoughts about this we can yak about it below.
Cheers!
