Node.js allows the creation of Web servers and networking tools using JavaScript and a collection of "modules" that handle various core functionality.

Translation Overview

I continued translating part of the module "crypto.md", the module provides cryptographic functionality that includes a set of wrappers and functions.

In this oportunity I translated the classes "Sign" and "Verify". The class "Sign" generate signatures and the class "Verify" is for verifying signatures. Then, I started to translate the "crypto module methods and properties".

The sections I translated in "Crypto Module Methods and Properties" are: "Constants", "Default Encoding", "FIPS" and "Cipher".

An interesting concept is FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) this are publicly announced standards developed by the United States federal government for use in computer systems by non-military government agencies and government contractors. FIPS standards are issued to establish requirements for various purposes such as ensuring computer security and interoperability, and are intended for cases in which suitable industry standards do not already exist.
