In his article The Deadly Impossibility of Herd Immunity Through Vaccination, Dr. Russel Blaylock, board-certified neurosurgeon, author and lecturer, exposes herd immunity to be a steaming pile of dung.
Natural V. Vaccine
Originally the description of herd immunity was the protection of the population at large by the contraction of an infection naturally, because naturally acquired immunity is life long. Vaccine proponents took this concept to include vaccine induced immunity. But unlike natural immunity, vaccine induce immunity is not life long. They found the need to have boosters, but the boosters only lasted 2 years or less.
Dr. Blaylock writes:
*"When I was in medical school, we were taught that all of the childhood vaccines lasted a lifetime. This thinking existed for over 70 years. It was not until relatively recently that it was discovered that most of these vaccines lost their effectiveness 2 to 10 years after being given. What this means is that at least half the population, that is the baby boomers, have had no vaccine-induced immunity against any of these diseases for which they had been vaccinated very early in life. In essence, at least 50% or more of the population was unprotected for decades.
If we listen to present-day wisdom, we are all at risk of resurgent massive epidemics should the vaccination rate fall below 95%. Yet, we have all lived for at least 30 to 40 years with 50% or less of the population having vaccine protection. That is, herd immunity has not existed in this country for many decades and no resurgent epidemics have occurred. Vaccine-induced herd immunity is a lie used to frighten doctors, public-health officials, other medical personnel, and the public into accepting vaccinations."*
Low Effectiveness Rate
In addition to the lack of desired immunity as a result of outdated vaccinations, he goes on to point out that there was found to be only a 30%-40% effectiveness rate further lowering the "herd" coverage.
"When we examine the scientific literature, we find that for many of the vaccines protective immunity was 30 to 40%, meaning that 70% to 60% of the public has been without vaccine protection. Again, this would mean that with a 30% to 40% vaccine-effectiveness rate combined with the fact that most people lost their immune protection within 2 to 10 year of being vaccinated, most of us were without the magical 95% number needed for herd immunity."
Fear the Motivating Factor
People are frightened into believing this herd immunity mentality. "Don't let your kids play with an unvaccinated Johnny or else…" On the surface it kind of makes sense. It's not until you learn the facts that you can see the fallacy.
Ironically, pro-vaxxer's don't seem to be able to comprehend that if they had their child vaccinated, according to how vaccines are supposed to work, their child should be immune. They are not at risk from an unvaccinated child. In fact, their child poses a threat to the unvaccinated child because their child could be shedding the infection they were vaccinated against, potentially infecting the unvaccinated child.
Parents of unvaccinated children seem to understand this risk and is doesn't make them keep their children from playing with others. It makes no sense why a parent with a vaccinated child would be afraid of the unvaccinated, unless they simply believe what they're told without thinking for themselves.
Either way, vaccinated or not, you're on your own, the herd does not appear to be immune, and the world hasn't ended.
