So, I have no idea where this will lead but I have been a blogger for quite a while and the prospect of earning actual revenues by being a content creator has been a huge desire literally forever. I have always somewhat resented the fact that posting ads smothered with useless or low value content could be an actual business plan. I love the idea that blockchain allows the possibility for people to see your value and actually support your efforts regardless of where in the world you are.
I am a former IT consultant and have all but sworn off technology as a career and pursued photography. I love the connection I share with people now... I have an amazing group of stunning models and I am literally poised to be one of the great editorial photographers of this generation... as long as I can keep my shit together and actually earn an income with photography! Some of my images cost me hundreds or even thousands of dollars in production, equipment, props and just time spent. That leads me to wonder what is the value of an image these days? Is the value based on the emotion it creates? is it based on how many people upvote? is it based on the revenue it generates? how do we truly measure that value and deliver it to the creator of that image so that they actually are able to realize a return on their investment of time passion and real money spent to create something for others to enjoy?
For me I am encouraged that there are communities like steemit that point towards a real valuation of content now and even more in the future.
