You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough. - Mae West
To me once is absolutely fine, Mae.
If energy reserves are carefully used and constantly refilled, one life is enough to find out where you belong and what your passion is, perfectly self-develop oneself and make the very best of the time given.
After a creative break of one month I'm back in the water shooting surf videos again.
I've slightly changed the editing style, aiming to provide you with some fancy, arty and cool clips from now on. There will be more colour effects, hard edged music and fast cuts.
Today I brought you the first foretaste.
Fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the ride with: #stayconnected!

Touch-down beach!
Today was my first session after quite a while. I suffered a cold - the first one after four years - so I was literally knocked out for a couple of days. Now I'm back on track - with even more energy than before.
More energy and more ideas!
During my time-out I was wondering how I might improve my surf videos. The drone I bought a couple of days ago still hasn't arrived, so there is no opportunity to change the output by changing the hardware. I'm still with my GoPro Hero5 which is perfect but doesn't provide any new impressions.
Then I thought about shooting some more artistic sequences, changing the camera angles, movements, perspectives and also playing a bit more with the editing software and its functionalities. Also I decided on complementing the images with faster music and harder beats. That would automatically lead to faster cuts and more dynamic sequences.
So much for the theory. Today I put my ideas into practice.
Harder, better, faster... @surfermarly working on her new video editing style
...Louder!
It was a quite tough first session today.
The beach break at my local spot completely lived up to its name, providing some steeply breaking walls instead of waves.
I found myself two times at the insight being hit by a massive wave, pulling me down quite deep. Jesus, what a come-back! Couldn't it have been a bit smoother?
I got all in and here's the result:

I hope you had as much fun watching the video as I had shooting it!
It felt incredibly good to be back at my spot after such a long time!
Now my body hurts like never before, but I actually don't care - haha! The first session after a longer break is always the hardest. Also when one of these bigger waves broke over me, my arm got twisted in a very painful way.
Well, it's called extreme sports for a reason I guess :-)
See you soon and #stayconnected, steemians!
