Northern Loop Part 7 - Ba Be Lake to Na Hang
Our sixth day of riding ended up with us in Na Hang. Na Hang was where we stopped for lunch. Thanks to Google being terrible in Asia, we missed our turn off and got lost for a few hours. We decided to return to Na Hang for the night. The locals weren't much help either. I wrote down the name of the road that we wanted (QL279) and asked a lady that was painting road markers. She had no idea. How do you get a job painting road markers without knowing which road is which?
I lose my temper when I'm lost and I don't take photos when I'm angry, so I didn't record the couple of hours where we were lost. After we returned to Na Hang and got a hotel room, my mood improved and we ended up having a fun evening.
Before getting lost, the riding was pretty nice. The weather was warm but hazy so most of my photos didn't turn out very well. The ride through the mountains outside of Ba Be Lake was spectacular. Here are a few of my photos.

After a few unnecessary hours of riding, we returned to Na Hang. We found a small restaurant that was selling all kinds of fried breads and meats. We stopped in for some food and beer.

For my last picture, we have a steamroller that must have been named by someone who used google to navigate in Asia.
It seemed like every time I looked at google maps, I was thinking "Fuck you, OK!"
