Unbound seams, fall away, falling
Voices whisper that I dwell in vanity, but claw marks mar that place
Never the reason I came, shredded in tatters anyway
I wouldn’t have survived, if that shallow sound was the beat of my heart
Remembrance, visions of promises dripping from my lips
Regret spirals in, owned, in the face of my reactive stance
Praying, upon my knees, folded over in my plea
Let the truth rain in a trickle down my spine, each vertebra a piece of the path
Faces of need haunt, my eyes, tightly squeezed closed
Hands enter in, grasping for a firm grip, of love that exceeds the pain
Knives of dissonance cut into my flesh, I bleed, I bleed
Standing on the conduit, I turn, ready to flee
Angry mobs desire rivers of salty pain
But the calls resonate, pleading for me to hear
Like an echo in my soul, the lilting notes of their words
Remembrance
The key turns, unlocking the purpose, flowing back into the folds of my heart
Devoted aspiration carrying the ounces of blood pounding the map of me
Shadows peel the petals of security away
Exposed until sheltered in a winged embrace
In God, I seek, I pray
Face lifted up, a warm touch flitters across the side of my face.
Light, an umbrella, hovering above, and the Grace it filters down
I accept it within
Sloping lines illuminate, pointing the direction to seek
Standing in scraps of me, I flush, bare, but for the Divine strength
Humans stirring in the matrix they create, push and pull
Some wander out, valiant hearts beat
Content. Relief, the breath of hope reborn
In this moment, I turn, into your gaze
Wrapped safely in the arms you silently encircled me in
Longing mingled in the determination of truth
Swimming, encompassed in your embrace
In the ethereal place, you are here, with me
