A day created on the end of WWI, one of the most disgusting wars in history. Now in the U.S. we celebrate Veteran's Day instead, b/c we'd rather honor war than peace. Honoring Veteran's forces everyone to support the military, as we are forced to acknowledge the camaraderie the veterans hold for each other due to being forced to live thru hell together. I always say, the best way to respect soldiers is not to send them to war. But the manipulative psychology of honoring the veterans perpetuates our myth of "defending ourself and freedom" instead of the reality of expanding empire.
When the soldiers came back from Vietnam they were called losers and spat on because they lost. Now, even though we lost the Iraq war, those veterans are honored, because it no longer matters if we win or lose. It no longer matters the disasters we've been complicit in creating in Libya, Syria, and Yemen. There is no rational except the myth of the status quo, the U.S. of Military, and staying #1 in the muscle of brutal violence and arms.
peace, abundance, liberty ... not the endless war machine
