This grand experiment has come to a crashing end
Most of the night I had him closed in the front bathroom. I could still hear his CONTINUAL crying.
4 am I went to let him out. Found him between the toilet and the wall.
Never touched anything else, but he'd been chewing on the cast for the first time.
He went STRAIGHT to the plastic covered pet door and started clawing at it.
I stacked stuff in front of it, so he came to my room and went to the window behind my computer desk and started pounding on the glass, at the same time pulling a bunch of wires, almost toppling my Router AGAIN.
I threw a glass or water at him, which of course defeated the purpose of keeping that thing dry.
Then back to the sliding glass door next to my bed, pounding, crying over and over. 20 min of that with me saying NO each time, then back to the bathroom.
When I went to let him out this time,
he passed me, he went to the kitchen window, hopped up the chairs there, and CLIMBED UP OVER THAT ROLL DOWN BAMBOO.
I'd had enough.
$600 + wasted.
Took me about 10 min with scissors to get it off. He never growled nor struggled.
Every other time I'd done anything with the cast, he acted like I was killing him.
I went out to see if and where and how much he would poop, but all he did while I stood there in the cold was look around switching his tail, then rubbing against my leg, then walked over towards my veggie garden, lapped a little water, then wrapping himself around my legs.
He is walking on that foot, still holding it up some, but if he ends up lame, so beit I will have a lame cat that I love.
IF the end result is that it is infected and has to be removed, I will have a 3 legged cat that I love.
But never again will I spend this kind of money on him.
