Well hello to all you wonderful #WednesdayWalk -ers, getting out and about enjoying your day, getting that fresh air and exercise and that we all need and love where ever you are in the world today.

Once again with a huge thank you to @tattoodjay for creating this awesome community for all of us to share our Wednesdays with each other, I feel totally privileged to belong to this fantastic community.

So for my Wednesday walk today, I would like to share with you a place that I would never have considered walking to before, if it wasn't for a specific role that I went to play at this site.

This post has been a few months in the making and the following post which is where I will share with you the specific role that I was playing at this site will come next Wednesday, so look out!

So today I would like to introduce you to the historic Hoppers Crossing pumping station- a major player in Melbourne's water.

So follow me through this massive front door so we can see what's on the other side.

So lets look to the right of the massive centre positioned door

then to the left of that same massive centre positioned door

I'm sorry, but I can't even begin to explain to you just how big this place is and unfortunately my photos don't do it justice either.

But I'm sure you can see how tall it is as we are standing on ground level.

And as you can see, it even goes below ground...but just how far down does it go?

As you can see that it appears to be pretty deep!

But wait......

But wait, let me use my mega zoom on the Nikon P950 to punch in a bit more...

And now we are almost, but still not quite at the bottom!

The Hoppers Crossing Pumping Station is one of the largest sewage pumping stations in Australia. It is the size of a 22-storey building, although only a quarter of it is visible above ground.

It was built to lift sewage from the Western Trunk Sewer and transfer it to the Western Treatment Plant for treatment.

The plant is fitted with eight pumps. Each pump stands 4.5 metres high, is 4 metres across, weighs 45 tonnes and is capable of pumping more than 5000 litres a second.

Today water is transferred from the Brooklyn Pumping Station to Hoppers Crossing, and then to the Western Treatment Plant.

Hoppers Crossing Pumping Station is one of the largest sewage pumping stations in Australia. It is capable of moving more than 5000 litres of sewage a second.

And I can't urge you enough to find some time to watch this movie as it is a brilliant piece of mindbending art!

Anyway, you may think that all I did was take a few snaps of this incredible feat of engineering genius, but I can assure you, I did plenty of walking that day- up and down, round and round, in and out and all in the name of art...Sci Fi infact.......😃 And I LOVED every minute of it. What a sensational day there it was!
