Today I decided to take a walk in my garden. In the past week we have gone from no snow...to about a foot of snow...to -40 wind chill...and now to an ice storm. My gardens have been through a lot in the past week. And as dangerous as the ice can be, it is beautiful in the photos.
I am entering my garden walk into #wednesdaywalk which was started by @tattoodjay to encourage us to get out and enjoy our surroundings. I am also joining in on the #gardenjournal2019 which was started by @simplymike so that we can share all that is happening in our gardens, both inside and outside.
The ground is frozen so there is no place for the water to go. That is creating little ponds in my back yard. I liked the reflection of the trees in the water.
Come walk with me. We will walk around the trail and then head back to my gardens.
The ice is coating everything.
One of my hydrangea...
I leave my pots in place if they can withstand the cold.
One of the pine trees...
Sometimes my Annabelles prune themselves. :)
I found these butterflies at an art fair years ago. I would buy one each year that I attended the art fair and find a special place in my garden for it. They are able to withstand all types of weather...even ice.
I leave many of my perennials standing for the winter...both for winter interest and to feed the birds.
Thank you for joining me today on my walk. I hope you enjoyed it.
