Weekend-Engagement Topics: Week 191/Obsessions
Hi friends, how are you? I hope you are enjoying the weekend. This has been a quiet weekend, I stayed at home. I invite you to follow me, like Mr. Scrooge I will visit my past, my present and my future, but I will do it with the ghosts of my past obsessions, my present obsessions and my future obsessions. But first I will define OBSESSION. An obsession is not only something that you are worried about. An obsession is something that really worries you, you think about that all the time, you cannot sleep because you are thinking about that. Right. Yes, the topic I will write about is Obsessions.
What are you obsessed with and why? Answer and explain one for the present and one from your past. Remember to use your own photos.
Well, I have no doubts about my present obsession: TIME. When you are young you don’t think about time, you have the fantasy that you’re eternal, you're living present time, you don’t think about future. But when you are not young, you know that every day you have one less day.
When you see yourself in a mirror you think about the old age, you start obsessing about your wrinkles, you start to worry about your poor memory, or your eyesight problems. I am not a pessimistic person. I enjoy every day as much as possible. But time has deteriorated my body and will probably deteriorate my mind.

As I am a single person and I have to take care of myself, I am obsessed with the passing of time. That's why I take care of my health as much as I can, I try to eat healthy, unprocessed food, I exercise regularly; I also take care of my mind, I meditate every day, I try to be grateful for the positive things I have, I avoid toxic situations and people, I like to be in contact with nature, because it calms my mind a lot. That's my way to ward off the passing of time.

When I was young my obsession was LOVE. Love is the big obsession of a young girl. You think: -”Will I find the love of my life? If I find him, will I be happy? will he love me like the great loves of novels and movies? will he love me forever? When I was young I didn’t know that you can fall in love many times and sometimes you don’t find the love of your life...
I didn’t find him and I’m 58 years old. And I didn’t know that there are many forms of love…Yes…I thought that the most important thing in life was love. I cried a river when some bad loves broke my heart and I also broke some hearts.
When the time passed I realized that the most important love in your life is self-esteem. If you don’t love yourself, what kind of love can you give to another person? What kind of love can you receive? You can also love your profession. I love my profession, I really like doing what I do.
Also you can love your parents, your brothers and sisters. You can love your friends. Providence has given me wonderful friends. Loneliness can be a terrible obsession when you are alone, when you don't get married or you are divorced or you lost your love. Fortunately I don't have that obsession. I learned to love my loneliness. Happy weekend hivers.
