Hello steemians.
A new week is coming with the weekend close to its end, and we would not forget our weekly dedication.
Every week I share my knowledge, study and searching uppon photography with you. Art and photography, are evolving every single day without interest if you follow them or not. It's similar to life... But this is a big conversation and I am not eligible to answer your questions about it.
Photography. Everyone knows what is photography, how does it work (even amateur know how it works in our days) and of course how many categories and subcategories are gathering the family of photography.
We have already spoken about art, street, nude and many other in our past dedications. Today (and because of I had a homework to make with the subject "Fashion photography"), I wanted to share with you the knowledge and the story of a person, who wrote his own page at the book History of photography and of course, he was the reason for many heart attacks, for many men.
" The desire to discover, the desire to move, to capture the flavor, three concepts that describe the art of photography. " Helmut Newton
Our #13 weekly dedication will honour one of the best fashion photographers.
Helmut Newton.
(1920 - 2004)
Helmut born in Berlin in 1920, with the name "Helmut Neustädter. He knew from his early age that photography is one of the main parts of his life. From the age of 12 he purchased his first camera, and he worked for the German photographer Yva. This was the start of his career as a photographer.
Two years later the chaos came to ruin his visions. Because of he was part of a Jewish family, and the Nuremberg laws order his father to lose his factory (He was manufacturer of buttons and buckles) and he briefly interned in a concentration camp on Kristallnacht. but Newton had problems with his passport, he could claim his passport just after turning 18. He then left Germany on 5 December 1938 and at Trieste, he boarded the Conte Rosso intending to journey to China.
"My job as a portrait photographer is to seduce, amuse and entertain." Helmut Newton

After many years of travelling and changing countries... From Australia to London, Europe and then back again to Australia, His growing reputation as a fashion photographer was rewarded when he secured a commission to illustrate fashions in a special Australian supplement for Vogue magazine, published in January 1956.
This gave him the chance to won a 12-month contract with British Vogue and this was the beginning of a brand future of fashion photography.
Newton and wife finally settled in Paris in 1961 and the work continued as a fashion photographer. His images appeared in magazines including the French edition of Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.
He established a particular style marked by erotic, stylised scenes, often with sado-masochistic and fetishistic subtexts. A heart attack in 1970 reduced Newton's output, nevertheless his wife's encouragement led to his profile continuing to expand, especially with a big success, the 1980 studio-bound stark infinity of the "Big Nudes" series. His "Naked and Dressed" portfolio followed and in 1992 "Domestic Nudes" which marked the pinnacle of his erotic-urban style, these series all underpinned with the prowess of his technical skills. Newton also worked in portraiture and more fantastical studies.

" There must be a certain look of availability in the women I photograph. I think the woman who gives the appearance of being available is sexually much more exciting than a woman who's completely distant. This sense of availability I find erotic." Helmut Newton
