This is my photo for sevendaysoutside challenge windowmonday. Castle of the Grand Dukes of Liechtenstein in the Vienna Forest.
The castle belongs to the village of Maria Enzersdorf in Austria. Already visible from afar, it is one of Austria's oldest castle museums.
The castle was built around 1130 by Hugo, the founder of the Liechtenstein dynasty. It was opened as a museum in 1812. The family can find many valuable artifacts in the castle museum about his various possessions, paintings, weapons, furniture, all of which can still be seen during the tour. The castle has been rebuilt several times, but 60% is original. It is forbidden to take photos inside the castle.
