We had an activity in our science subject. Our topic was wind vane, a device that tells the direction of the wind, I discussed it to my students so that they can have an idea and gain some valuable information about it.
The directions in the wind vane are N, E, W, S (NORTH, EAST, WEST, SOUTH). Example in determing the direction of the wind, if the arrow head of the wind vane faces the North it means the wind is blowing North. Another example, if the arrow head points between the North and East it means the wind is blowing Northeast
After our discussion, we started the activity which is making a wind vane. The materials needed for the activity are:
- straw
- scissors
- ruler
- plastic drinking cupd with lid cover
- pebbles/ sand
- marking pen
- glue
The activity let my students to witness how a wind vane works. They had a great time doing our activity.
