While yes, those were lines in a sitcom, there is assuredly truth in them. Married With Children was a favorite of mine from the start of its appearance on television. If memory serves, it paved the way for Roseanne, another sitcom I enjoyed until towards the end when it stopped being realistic. Not long after Married With Children, which started out on a new network called Fox, came The Tracy Ulman Show. The Tracy Ulman Show, which was also one of Fox's premiere shows, gave birth to The Simpsons. It didn't take long for The Simpsons to have their OWN show, but they did appear FIRST in The Tracy Ulman Show.
Sorry. Got a little sidetracked there. :-D Sometimes I do that. :-D
Anyway.... Would love to see those kinds of sitcoms come back. The entire bogus "reality t.v." has been anything BUT from the start, & not remotely entertaining at all. I will never patronize wannabe actors pretending to be "real", but I WILL patronize actual actors that are pretending to be believable characters OF real life but IN a show. Make sense? Know what I mean?
