State of the Witness Ep. 1 - HELLO WORLD
Hello everyone and welcome to the first episode of the State of the Witness webcast! First and foremost, I need to apologize for the strange audio for the first ten or so minutes of the episode. When I went to launch the stream in OBS, I managed to forget to set the audio input, so that's why you only hear me. After I figured that out, Shane and I had a great episode:
- What's a witness anyway? We covered what a witness is and what a witness does in broad strokes. They're the backbone of the Steem blockchain, and they're responsible for signing all the transactions (like voting and posting) to the blockchain.
- What a witness definitely isn't. It's been debunked before, but we explained why witnessing is the opposite of a "get rich quick scheme."
- What we're thinking about the upcoming hardfork. Hardfork 20 is right around the corner, and we talked about the big changes that are going to be coming along with it.
We didn't have any guests for this first episode, but we're planning on having guests feature on every episode to get their take, both on witnessing and on the projects and tools they're working on. Until next time, Steem on everybody!
