With the upcoming closure of the last of the old chain projects at the end of this month some resources were freed up, allowing for a seed node to be reinstated as part of my contributions to our HIVE community as part of my ongoing witness campaign. The seed node can be accessed via:
seed.hive-roller.com
Hopefully this seed node will help future node operators download and sync up to our blockchain faster when they decide to deploy their own witness or RPC nodes. Back on the old chain I'd run a seed node on the now defunct steem.global site which also operated as a faucet and while up until now I wasn't in a position to be able to offer another seed node to the community certainly pleased that it is possible once again. The seed node at seed.hive-roller.com will continue to operate as long as it's possible for me to do as such. Eventually would be able to offer a full RPC node as well in the future but income streams need to significantly improve before something like that is even economically feasible for the budget.
On top of the recent increase in development work on HIVE related projects and relaunching my seed node initiative the plan is to also start doing more frequent witness update posts. For a while there was pretty stressed out and depressed with the whole forking off of the old chain, but as of lately my interest and ambition has returned towards helping further develop the HIVE ecosystem by providing service to it.
Currently #53 on the witness rankings. While this pays for my witness server it does not cover the cost of the seed node server, which has been provided to me as a form of sponsorship towards my project development by top ranking HIVE witness @someguy123 over at Privex.io, thanks to him both the site Hive-Roller.com and this seed node can operate.
