Perhaps I haven't caught all Tron - Steem dialogue lately, but I'm concerned with how easily Steemians on the recent joint call took the potential bait that the buy side had noooo idea about the nature of the ninja-mined stake. "It's all Ned's fault."
Playing dumb is cute when it doesn't harm anyone.
We all know that Steem Power and membership in the inner circle equals intelligence and proactive risk mitigation to protect the community's best interests (or hopefully not the downfall of our blockchain). That's how these people got there while some less easily influenced people can watch from the sidelines. Regardless, there were some positives discussed for much needed progress.
Maybe their convenient excuse is true, but jumping to believe them and point fingers at Ned without getting his side feels pretty silly. Is this a case of instantly trusting someone who may not deserve the credit? For Ned, is he guilty until proven innocent?
Sounds like the perfect out to avoid legal issues and loss of reputation, put the fire out, and buy time.
They bought it!!
Sock-puppet witness accounts -> puppet Steemians?
If Tron didn't know about the disclosures regarding the ninja-mined stake, they could've let us know immediately weeks ago... not on a recorded call to cover malicious tracks. Let's call a spade a spade.
^--What do you think?
Hearing some people potentially be manipulated (blame shifting) isn't easy, but maybe they're being honest this time and have now earned our trust.
Legal discovery and proceedings will hopefully shed more light on this as lawyers seem to have been involved, but to the witnesses and key stakeholders (hackers), please use some common sense and not flip flop because someone told you what you wanted to hear.
Lack of critical thinking is what goes us all here in the first place, so let's step it up.
When in doubt, actions speak louder than words. If they remove their witness votes immediately, there's hope that their spiel has some credibility.
P.S. - Maybe they are telling the truth. We'll find out in time. This is just my initial feeling as these are smart business people who know what they're doing.
