Hey everyone, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new contribution and hope you had a weekend which was full of interesting experiences! Today I would like to share an experience I had in Hong Kong and hope you are able to learn new things.
On the first day when I was in Hong Kong I decided to visit the well-known Viktoria Peak and rather by chance I discovered a well-known wax museum nearby which is also known as Madame Tussauds. It's located directly in the Peak Tower and is therefore a perfect hotspot for visitors to Hong Kong and because of the location it has probably become one of the most important attractions of the city. It is the first time that I have visited a Madame tusauds and it has now even developed into a chain and worldwide there are over 25 different cabinets and also in China, it can be found in the most famous cities. It originated in London where it was created during the 19th century by a French lady, but it should take many years until it gained international approval and the museum in Hong Kong is also the first of its kind in Asia and was opened there in 2000. In addition to the possibility of the classic tram, a bus can also be taken and as far as I have noticed, it can be visited pretty much all year round.
The figures themselves do not come from Asia but were imported from London and there is a lot of work behind this art form and most of the figures look extremely authentic and are similar to the original. It costs tens of thousands of dollars to produce such a figure and takes months and partly real things are also used for the production such as the hair and when it comes the diversity, from the prominent to the politician everything can be found. There is definitely a lot offered for visitors and the figures are so diverse that there is actually something for pretty much everyone, whereby in addition some figures have also been designed interactively that the visitors themselves can even interact with the figure to take pictures, for example. Some figures are also specifically based on the culture in Asia like some Chinese celebrities of the country but there are also some international to see and the cabinet is divided into different areas to cover different topics and finally I would also recommend for every visitor of the Viktoria Peak to stop by here and if you have never been in a Madame Tussauds like me before, you should definitely put this on the list!
Thank you very much for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new and like my post! I captured these pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens.
