In previous articles of mine on the Hive writing platform, I've introduced you to the HubPages writing platform by describing its features, its requirements, its rewards, and its benefits. However, one thing that I have been meaning to point out to those of you who are either interested in joining the HubPages writing platform or at least would like to know more about it is that an effective way to maximize your earnings on that writing platform is to get your articles upgraded to a vertical network site.
The HubPages writing platform has a variety of vertical network sites that feature articles pertaining to a specific niche. Each vertical network site has its own editorial policy that you must read before even seeking to have one of your articles upgraded to any of them. You can only submit one of your HubPages articles to any of those same sites every 14 days for consideration. Sometimes the HubPages Editorial Team will select one of your HubPages articles on their own volition to feature on one of those vertical network sites. If they do so, you will not have to wait another 14 days to submit a HubPages article on your own. However, it is not very frequent that the HubPages Editorial Team will upgrade one of your HubPages articles in that manner.
The advantage of getting one of your HubPages articles featured on a vertical network site is that it will receive more traffic than it will do so on the regular HubPages site. As you receive more views for that same article, you'll start to notice an increase in the amount of money you earn for that same article. I've encountered members of the HubPages writing platform or rather Hubbers who have gotten all of their articles featured on vertical network sites and they have actually been able to make their monthly mortgage payments with their earnings from it. Of course, these Hubbers have at least 50 or more articles posted and featured on those sites.
In brief, the HubPages writing platform has all sorts of tools to help you earn additional money on your articles, and the vertical network sites are a good way to do so. It is so easy to submit one of your HubPages articles to the HubPages Editorial Team for such consideration. If you decide to join the HubPages writing platform, you're going to want to be one of the heavy hitters sooner or later. I'm aiming for that goal myself.
Now, keep in mind that it will seem much easier to get a HubPages article of yours upgraded to a vertical network site than it really is. The most bizarre aspect of attempting to do so is that the HubPages Editorial Team will have you believing that they like a particular trend or style of writing or a particular subject, and you will find out that they will not necessarily upgrade an article that you submit to them simply because they have done so with a similar article of yours in the past. However, do not fret. They may surprise you and upgrade an article of yours that you did not even submit to them for that purpose, and it will be one that you least expected them to upgrade.
One of my HubPages article was about how annoying a hammer was to hear in the wee hours of the morning. I found nothing special about it other than that it allowed me to vent my frustrations. However, the HubPages Editorial Team decided to upgrade it to a vertical network site. I guess one person's rubbish is another person's treasure. Well, I wouldn't go as far as making that kind of analogy, because I did take pride on what I put into that same article. However, what baffled me was that there were so many better articles I had composed and published on the HubPages writing platform that I never imagined that they would have selected that one article.
You also must keep in mind that once the HubPages Editorial Team upgrades one of your HubPages articles to a vertical network site, there always remains the possibility that they may downgrade it back to a regular HubPages article in the future if the standards of a particular vertical network site should change. Usually they won't, but it can happen. For that reason, it is a good idea to submit one of your HubPages articles to them every 14 days so that they will at least know that you are interested in maximizing the traffic to your articles.
If you have not joined the HubPages writing platform yet, I recommend that you do so. You only need a Paypal account so that they have a way of paying you. It's an experience that you will never regret.
