This is the updated version of the Index to Enmity
This story has been boiling in my head for about 45 years, and a serious proposal for 30 years. I once got pretty far along and lost it all on a hard drive crash! That put me in a writer's funk for about 8 years.
But it's a story that I really want to tell, and if I tell it well enough, I really think you will enjoy it. I will try not to waste your valuable reading time.
I recommend reading these very short stories in a random order. The artistic concept is that you gradually uncover clues to the History as various myths, poems, data files, entertainment shows, communications, and formal history, and try to patch them all together. Besides giving the illusion of a greater span of time, it forces me to write in various styles and at various tempos. I'm hoping I can even pull off at least one comic book style entry.
