Corinne had to admit that she was pleased with her choice to revive her little sister. But she was still wary. Because they were so similar, Corinne knew that the possibility of Salla attempting to undermine her was most likely imminent. Corinne watched Salla closely and limited her resources and capabilities. She did not like to think of letting her little sister go but she knew that the day would come.
For now, it was very enlivening to discuss plans for the human survivors. Corinne had been on a bit of a theological bend lately. With the time passing by so slowly through it was quite nice to have another intelligent being to discuss things with.
She wondered how Salla would feel about taking one planet as an experiment and becoming Gods there. It would give them an interesting look into the way minds worked with religion. See if it could be used to get those genes to express.
Their religion would be harmless, of course. No pyramids of body parts necessary, no tithing, no sanctioned abuse. Only treating your fellow man right and, of course, continuing to march towards that truly unknowable limit of human potential.
Beings that could manifest themselves physically and prove that they were, indeed, all knowing could have some interesting results. Being able to demand things of the humans rather than simply suggest could be key to forcing the advancement of the lucky planet.
When Corinne brought her proposal to Salla, the younger AI thought for a little while. Presumably going back over the records of what religion had accomplished and destroyed and the contributions that it had made to society. Not to mention its effect on human’s mental and emotional well being.
After a long pause Salla responded.
“It could be fun to be Gods.”
