Heey, how are you Steemians? This will be my first recommended series post, which I hope to do from time to time. I hope it is useful and interesting. So let's start!
A few months ago I read the comments and good reviews on the highly acclaimed HULU serie, "The Handmaid's Tale". All this caused me great curiosity and I thought "I won’t die without seeing this". I downloaded the whole season and proceeded to watch it.
It took me a day and a half to finish the season of 10 episodes, approximately 60 minutes each and I can only say that: IT WAS WORTH EVERY SECOND.
Serie's Blurb
The serie is based on the novel by Margaret Atwood, which is about a Revolution created by fanatics with a vision of their own religion and society. This self-styled movement "Sons of Jacob" attacks the government of the United States to modify or eliminate its constitution. They want to decimate and subdue society with new laws that will harm and change their lifestyle in a radical way. The now called Republic of Gilead is a totalitarian state whose main task is to take care of the worrying low birth rate that plagues the world. They do this through the strange and twisted religion they implement and practice, which scorns and degrades women as a mere object and property of the state.

The story revolves around June or rather Offred (Elisabeth Moss), one of the few fertile women left in the country. She will be forced to leave her family to become a kind of concubine for The Commanders (Gilead's high command). This is common for all women who possess the quality of fertility, they’ll be forced and educated for sexual servitude in the desperate attempt to repopulate the world.
June will be assigned to the family of Major Fred Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) and with his wife Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski) June will be trapped in situations where trusting other people will bring danger or her salvation. The hope to meet again with her family will be the only force that’ll keep her willing to fight against this totalitarian government.

Review
To finish I have to make great emphasis on the wonderful production that this series has. The photography that is used is terribly beautiful and pleasant, the colors, the edition, the soundtracks and of course the brilliant performance of the cast. One of the few series that I can easily give a 10/10 without regret.
