Yesterday I needed to help my aunt to go to the hospital for hemodialysis.
I went to her house in the morning and I took her and we went to the hospital.
She stood in the chair and it began the process of hemodialysis.
Μy aunt goes 3 times a week for hemodialysis. It takes 4 hours every time.
A nephropathy patient can live for many years only by making blood transfusion through a dialysis machine.
The kidneys clean the blood
When the kidneys of a human being do not work, he/she has no urine.
When the kidneys do not work,the dialysis machine is what separates the water and the harmful substances from the blood.
If the nephropathy patient is careful enough,they will not die from it.
The nephropathy patients should drink half a liter of water and 200 grams of others liquids per day such as coffee.
The nephropathy patients can eat what they want in small quantities but they should avoid fruits and vegetables because they have potassium.
The water and food per day must not overcome to one and a half kilos.
Hemodialysis is free in Greece while in other countries is not.
The state also gives some money for help as pension.
