Petal's Edge
Over the edge and into the abyss, the sigh of the sun fell
Nothing wanted nor amiss, tiptoeing forward an empty shell
An ear of a friend to hear, nothing needed but life craves
Pressing send and like spear, headlong in and under waves
New, old, borrowed and blue, married to a world unchosen
In the shadows none knew, mind heart and soul were unfrozen
Sharp the edge glistened, glinting in the light of waning moon
If only they listened, much later it would have been than soon
Choices are made on the small, and little there is any can say
Headlong the rushing fall, as echoes chase with begs to stay
Too late it all arrived, depths dragged from height of ledge
Dark ate after the dive, or was it a fall from the petal's edge.
