Today we can sit in front of an electronic device and visit the far reaching edges of our world. We can explore places and people on the other side of the planet. We can explore the far reaches of space. Never before in the history of the world has all this been so accessible to us with just the stroke of a button on a keyboard. The entire universe is right at our finger tips. The entire universe is on a screen two feet in front of us. Technology has broadened our existence. At the same time the universe has shrunk to the confines of the room we sit in. We dont know or interact with our neighbors. We dont stand at the fence and talk to the person next door. Our friends are people we never met. The room in our home that houses the computer is our cell. The door has no lock to keep us in yet we are imprisoned there just the same. The prison that holds our spirits in bondage has no bars on the windows. We are imprisoned within ourselves. The very same technology that sets us free , imprisons us as well.
