One of the loveliest cities in the world. Vienna usually comes top in the list of best cities in the world for expats.

It's a lovely place and one of three or four outstanding sights in Lithuania.

It was on a tour with an adventure travel company - it's only an hour to the Syrian border from here, so it's best not to go alone.

I remember a view of The Rockies at dusk on a flight from Heathrow to Vancouver - the light was incredible.

I would say May just before the summer starts, but Istanbul can be visited at any time of the year.
