I agree governments could do a lot more to promote a more sustainable agriculture. One thing I think public funds should be put toward is the basic research of new crops more adapted to the local conditions

That's what living in the south will get you! The leaves were a mix of Red Oak to Pine, all set to be thrown away. Personally, am a fan of compost so I like the free biomass option.
