RE: Practical Astronomy
A bit late to the party, but excellent post! It's incredible how precise you were able to get your measurement.

RE: 5 Reasons Going To Mars is a TERRIBLE Idea | Answers With Joe
Venus is ignored because it might as well not exist, due to its Earth-like size and ridiculous surface conditions. All landers sent there have failed shortly after landing (scale of hours). Its gravity

RE: My X-Ray emitter device built from a barbecue lighter
CRTs have way more current and voltage behind them, but had the benefit of being made of lead glass that massively reduced the x-ray emission. I've never actually tried to measure the x-ray emission of

Watched this launch online this afternoon, always fun to watch SpaceX launches as they do a really good job with their livestreams.

RE: A Snapping Turtle Was Fed A Sick Puppy; It Was Euthanized Later
Really interesting animal. Weird story at the end - On one hand that seems extremely messed up, on the other hand the dog's owner was fine with it? Either way, I have no idea why the turtle needed to be

RE: Pyroelectric Crystal Nuclear Fusion
Neutron production is a tell-tale sign of D-D fusion. The reaction itself has just under a 50% chance of producing a neutron every time two nuclei fuse, which is then easily detectable by specialized

RE: What is an orbit? Part 3: Orbital Transfers
Glad you enjoyed it! Consider using a Bielliptical transfer in KSP if you need to change your inclination by a lot, or if you need to transfer to a very high circular orbit.

RE: Maxwell's Demon: Violation of The Second Law of Thermodynamics
Excellent post, and definitely worthy of the Steemstem resteem! I hadn't seen the entropy of changing a bit explicitly spelled out before (even though I guess it follows naturally from S = k*lnW). Thanks

Hey, you know, not getting a terrible disease and dying sounds nice, but there are debunked reports of people getting a nonfatal disorder from vaccines so we shouldn't use them! Idiot. This is how you

RE: Capturing Plasma in Magnetic Fields & Updated Hardware
I'm curious, why the oven transformer? I've typically avoided those because of the low voltage/high current. I guess lower voltage might be better in this case since that won't produce any escaping xrays.

Awesome images and writeup! (I will admit I haven't fully read through it but plan to once I'm finished with this work). I had a lot of fun using microwave magnets on a 20kV, low-vacuum plasma stream last

Not to mention his "technical" analysis is the opposite of technical, it is useless garbage that is almost always wrong, except when he occasionally gets lucky. It makes Steemit and cryptocurrencies

RE: Open Letter to the City of Berkeley, California: Why a Steem Smart Media Token (SMT) is a Wiser Choice Than a Cryptocurrency Bond or ICO
But SMTs don't even exist yet. How can something that doesn't exist be better for a current problem than something that does (eg ICO or ERC20, as much as I generally dislike ICOs)
