We are on a short road trip so we harvested our garlic before we left. We planted two bulbs worth of garlic last fall. One was hard neck and one was soft neck.

Garden pics. Starting with some raspberries. We have two types of raspberries in the garden. These black raspberries or black caps or Bristol raspberries are similar to the wild ones.

Our garden is hitting its stride now that we are a couple of weeks into summer. Squash plant is running. It was just a seedling when planted. Zucchini are also thriving right now.

Marigolds are very common in gardens. And yet they are still very pretty splashes of color worth a little appreciation. Marigolds come in a range of colors primarily yellow to orange.

Hiked up to the peak of Mt Moosalamoo yesterday. We went the back way. 6.8 miles and about 1400 ft in climb. We started at the Mt Moosalamoo campground trailhead. There are actually two trails that lead

We got out for a hike on July 4th. 3.3 miles from Brandon Gap at 2170 ft up to Goshen Mountain peak at 3290 ft. Very nice views from the peak.

Pink rose in the morning sun and dew. I have a rose bush on the corner of the house. Not sure what type of rose these are but they are having a good year.

Lake Dunmore, Addison County, Vermont. I walk down to the lake and take this picture everyday. Usually twice a day.

A few photos of whats blooming outside... Wild Chicory is blooming. Day lilies are starting to bloom also but not mine yet. Also a redstart captured.

Water lilies in a pond in Duke Gardens, Durham, North Carolina. Great little pond with several different colors of water lilies. The water lilies are grown in sunken cages below the surface.

Visited the Duke Gardens in Durham, North Carolina over the weekend. The gardens are 55 acres of peace and serenity in the middle of Duke University. The red bridge was in the Japanese part.

Neo-Gothic archways on Duke campus in Durham, North Carolina. The overall impact of the arches is very impressive but the details are too. Lots of shapes and different colored stonework.

Downtown Durham has lots of historic buildings. With the growth of the area, the old and new are often standing side by side. The details are often the most interesting aspect of the old buildings

I'm on a short trip to North Carolina. Love the Southern Magnolias! Lovely blooms. Lovely sweet smell. Very photogenic 🙂

Another lucky nature video from this week 🙂 A porcupine wondered through our yard. Check out the video below!

We lucked into an awesome nature scene! A mink coming upstream bringing a fish with it. It travelled upstream then went up the bank and into a den. I wonder if there are kits in the den.

My flower beds are starting to have new blooms. Sweet William is a perennial with clusters of small flowers. Sweet William comes in many colors and patterns.

Northern House Wren. Photographed in Salisbury, Vermont. The northern house wren is very common in most of North America. We have had a nesting pair in this house the last couple of years.

We got a little rain last night. The allium are opened up right now. The rain left tiny drops on the blooms. We also have a lot of lavender in the beds in front of our house.

Everyday at the lake is a little different. Low clouds on the mountains and reflecting on the lake made this day picturesque. This photo is from my usual spot with the clouds and reflections
