Here we are at the start of a new month, so it's time to assess what has happened since the last retrospective post! I don't have a whole lot of commentary. Tonight was bonfire night with friends, and I didn't even snap any pictures, but here's a quick look at what else I managed to write in April.

I added another entry to my Knowledge, certainty, and Current Events musings with part 5. I also pondered the ramifications of things being necessary, but not sufficient. Then I took a break with a meme about playing the hand you're dealt. After that, I got serious again with an offer to compromise, followed by asking whether people really know what they think they know, which may have been the conclusion to the series on knowledge and certainty. We'll see if I think up more to ramble about later though.
Closer to home, there's a battle over Idaho libraries and the growing nationwide conflict over censorship. I also poked at the problem of government secrecy and surveillance hypocrisy. Then it was time for a beer review. It can't be all serious all the time or I burn out. Speaking of which, I told a story about my incorrigible librarian antics. I also wrote about bobcats.
The most recent posts included a serious delve into American gun laws and free speech infringement, a palate cleanser about making a wrap, and then back into the heavy stuff with a post about democide.
I think that makes 13 posts in addition to the last retrospective, so that's some progress in my writing rate. I still don't have any grand plans for May, but there is a promise of spring in the air, so maybe photography will happen as plants emerge and flowers bloom? I'm sure I'll also have plenty of rants about the state of affairs in politics and the economy. I'm still trying to find that balance between hyper-focus on soul-crushing injustice and ignoring it all for the sake of vapid nonsense posts that people seem to like more. Honestly, without the State and its looming ever-present threats against our lives, liberty, and property, I'd just write more of that anyway.
So happy Hive Power Up Day, and don't forget to live so you illuminate the darkness even if you feel overwhelmed at times. I try, even if it doesn't always come across in my writing.
