Happy Halloween if you're reading this in the US on the day of posting, and happy Hive Power Up Day to everyone! It's been busy, but I'll share the usual retrospective list of posts I managed to write during October. I don't have any ambitious plans for November, so just expect irregular entries in my ongoing series and occasional one-off posts with neither rhyme nor reason.

September Retrospective and October Plans: This post, but last month's version.
Hoarding Wealth and Other Capital Crimes?: exploring common economic misunderstandings.
Cool Creator Spotlight: Dave McKeegan: a photographer and flat-earth debunker you should follow.
Feeling Irritable: grousing about a library patron I dislike.
Economics versus Politics and Pundits: more economics musings as related to political promises.
A Deeper Problem With Police: what it says on the tin, dismantling some common errors.
What Would a Modern Hobo Need? A video link about hoboes and some discussion of useful tools for preparedness.
Eclipsing Current Events: I couldn't see the solar eclipse, but unrelated current events warranted publishing my own take.
Blame Capitalism! Yup, I wrote yet another economics article about misconceptions.
Seeking Purpose in a Meaningless World? The opening in an open-ended series about ennui and despair in society today.
Markets Get Blamed When Regulations Backfire: how high-minded legislation makes things worse as a (hopefully) unintended consequence.
Last Bonfire, Last Strawberry: just a post about an evening with friends and the changing of the seasons.
A Struggle for Meaning and Purpose in Religion: a second post about ennui and despair in society today as it relates to the failings of the church.

Looks like I managed to eke out 13 posts, mostly on serious subjects this month. It's been busy, but nothing suitable for blogging about. My physical exam went well. The doc says I ain't dead and don't need a boatload of prescription meds. Now I need to schedule a more serious appointment to discuss allergies, immune system issues and whatnot. Fun.
