It all started when I took the Cybertruck in to address some outstanding recalls. Tesla’s initial estimate was a week, so I was surprised when they called just two days later to say the truck was ready. But when I finally hit the road, I quickly noticed the FSD feature wouldn’t engage. Initially, I thought it might be something simple—maybe dust or debris was blocking a camera. At our first stop, I wiped down every camera on the car, hoping for a quick fix. But the error persisted, and that’s when the realization set in: somehow, my latest service visit had disabled the FSD feature entirely.
The timing couldn’t have been worse, with two months to wait before I could get it resolved due to the shop’s high demand. So, the road trip to Orlando went on, but with a bit of sadness lingering. I’d had just enough time with FSD to be wowed by its smooth turning and navigation, even if it still had some kinks to work out with speed bumps and other road obstacles. Now, I can only look forward to that day when FSD is re-enabled, hoping the experience will be even better the next time I get behind the wheel.
