A summary of my comments for 01-05-2018.
@Taskmaster4450 wrote a post that discusses the number one driver for new user adoption of Steem, price action. Go read STEEM: About To Have A Massive Influx Of Users: 1M Users Will Happen Very Quickly to find out his take on the matter.
I commented:
I don't know what the price action will be like and I try not to focus on it. It is an unnecessary distraction for me.
My bottom line is accumulating SP right now. That is the value. If the price bottoms out SP is what will allow you to keep earning.
That being said, I realize others have different priorities. Steem Price is definitely the biggest driver for growth here and that is good for everyone who uses the platform, myself included.
I wish HF20 would happen to widen the on ramp into Steem, but I'm not stressing about it like some.
This is giving me a period where I can work on account value before the party really gets going. When that $100 Steem hits I want to be in position.
Thanks for the post.

@Hitmeasap wrote a post that talks about something that we all will deal with sooner or later. Friends that thought you were stupid for wasting your time on Steem suddenly get interested when they see your nice profits. Read "You're Not Even Successful" - They Said.
I commented:
The amazing thing to me about being a Steem evangelist is how few people really want in.
I tell them about it and what I have earned and they say, "I'll hafta check that out." But so far nobody has.
I guess people don't really want freedom and success.
Sigh...
Thanks for the post.

In a post titled STEEM Token Unit (STU): When A $ Is Not A $: Plus The Damn Is Breaking On Active Users!!!! @Taskmaster4450 fills us in on the math involved in determining your author payouts.
I commented:
I use Steemworld by @steemchiller as my main activity feed for my account. This is a great tool too.
It gives a fairly accurate display of expected USD payouts per post. Not to mention being a great way to keep up with incoming votes and comments.
Thanks for the post.

@Heymattsokol filled us in on what he wants to read. Go read The Top Four Books I'm Dying to Read in Early 2018 and leave a comment about your own reading list.
I commented:
Like you, most of my reading is of blog posts and tech industry articles.
I haven't read a novel since last year. At that time I read the complete works of Daniel Quinn.
My to be read list currently consists of Antifragile by Nassim Nicholas Taleb (good choice) and Maps of Meaning by Dr. Jordan B. Peterson.
Who knows when I'll get to them though.
Thanks for the post.
