Good afternoon, dear friends, Steemits, on November 18, World Food Day was celebrated, an important date where children enjoy a great banquet in schools and share fruits and healthy meals. On November 21 of this year the students of the Bolivarian School "Las Catanas" could enjoy a wonderful sharing for this special day, in the company of all the staff that works in our institution, parents, mothers, representatives and community in general, where they were tasted diverse plates elaborated with yuca, much of this yuca cultivated in the parcels of the school.

Our country is experiencing one of the worst food crises in its history, however as good Venezuelans we are always get the best part of us, overcome adversity and move forward. It was a great effort made by all the staff to carry out this beautiful activity, the greatest satisfaction will always be to see the children smile and spend a great day, they are the main protagonists of this event and who carry the message to their homes of how important it is to maintain a healthy and balanced diet, a complicated issue in difficult times.

In our humble table, although it may seem small, it meant a lot for our students, we could observe and also taste dishes such as: arepa de yuca, casabe, naiboa, yucca donuts, yucca tequeños, cassava empanadas, yucca balls, nougat yucca, boiled cassava, yucca cakes, yucca majarete, enyucados, chicha de yuca, cassava bread, sweet and salty tostones of cassava, fried cassava among others, highlighting the authenticity of our items and tubers that are harvested in the community of The Catanas. And also fruits like papaya, banana, and oranges. In addition, the children had lunch and had a glass of cold milk.

The institutional collective showed its greatest disposition for the event to take place, in spite of the electric power cuts that we live daily in our country, our children sang under the sound of the cuatro, the charrasca, the maracas and the drums, aguinaldos and carols giving start to the holiday season, and celebrating World Food Day. We continue to reinforce and rescue these types of traditions in our school.
