Arguably the most common seasoning other than salt, the black pepper. Just like the quality of salt affects the taste of a dish, the quality of black pepper does that as well.
For my food truck, we use a local and well known internationally black pepper called the Sarawak black pepper.
Almost everything that has pepper seasoning on the food truck, whether it'd be white pepper or black pepper, I use this local black pepper.
Sarawak is a state in East Malaysia also known as Borneo and the black pepper that grow there are of high quality. The soil and climate is perfect to grow black pepper and it has a unique and savoury note to it's pepperiness if you'd say.
Being a local product, we do get this black pepper relatively cheaper than other places but it still costs quite a bit. There are local grown black pepper that isn't from Sarawak and they are cheaper as well but in terms of taste and flavor, the Sarawak black pepper is superior.
Our beef burgers particularly highlight the Sarawak black pepper as we only seasoning our 80\20 beef to fat ratio patties with Himalayan pink salt and the Sarawak black pepper. Even a cheap cut of meat would taste substantially better just by using the Sarawak black pepper to season.
You gotta come and try it out for yourself to get a taste of this wonderful product. If you're overseas, I highly recommend my country's proudly made Sarawak black pepper.
