This post follows yesterday's back to mindful gamemaking as well as a series of earlier recent write ups, that you can find by scrolling down my blog's time line.
I procrastinated most of the day, distracted because my sister and her family were traveling to Portugal today ( They are at my twin sister's place now and I'll probably see them tomorrow ).
In spite of this, I managed to spend some time working on a new room in How to Talk to Your Parents ( working title )

Truth be told... once again, I got somewhat stuck in details ( story of my life, more on that in yesterday's blog post: Back to Mindful Game making - A game about Communication, Mindfulness and Possibly even Dinosaurs ) but this time I didn't feel bad about it. It was fun!
The new room that I worked on for a bit, today, is currently called 'The Book Room'. It might change to 'The Library' later, as that sounds more mansion like.
Let's be honest, the place / house where this game takes place is far from a mansion. It's kind of hard to make a mansion with so few pixels anyway. And, in case you didn't figure this out already, the name Mindfulness Mansion was merely chosen because I like the alliteration and the way it sounds.
Back to The Book Room:
Yesterday, I already added a couple of piles of books to the living room, where the game starts. It's fair to say that I grew up in a family of people who love to read. Reading books was one of my favorite pastimes as a kid ( and, in a way, still is, although I stare more at screens nowadays ).
Today I handed the main character / avatar in the living room a book called 'How to Not Make a Movie ( an inside joke on my filmmaking background ) and I put another special book in the book room. More on that in the pictures and GIF attached to this post.
I actually wrote a blog post, a couple of months ago, about wanting to write a filmmaking book with that title and have been walking around with that idea for quite a while. Now I think of it, I wrote a series of blog entries with exactly that title - how to not make a movie 0 where I focused on my film making past. I never really got started on the book though. I feel that this game is gonna be a way / excuse to actually do so. A way to integrate game making and writing. So many possibilities :>)
I'm gonna end it here for today. For those of you who still haven't had enough, you can play a buggy version of my game ( or what I've got so far ) HERE. I will do my best to update is as often as possible.
And, as promised earlier on in this post, I provide you with a link to the original ( start of ) Mindfulness Mansion PLAY IT HERE
