Cuando una es madre, busca la manera incluir en la dieta diaria el consumo de verduras y vegetales de los más pequeños de la casa, es por ello, hoy les traigo una receta de arepas de colores, que no solo son atractivas a la vista, sino que los niños les encanta; también son muy deliciosas, de textura suave y fácil de preparar.
En esta oportunidad voy a preparar tres arepas de diferentes colores, para ello se utilizó lo siguiente:

When you are a mother, you look for a way to include in the daily diet the consumption of vegetables and greens for the little ones of the house, that is why today I bring you a recipe for colorful arepas, which are not only attractive to the eye, but the children love them; they are also very delicious, soft in texture and easy to prepare.
In this opportunity I am going to prepare three arepas of different colors, for this we used the following:
Ingredientes
1 ½ de harina de maíz precocida
1 zanahoria pequeña
1 remolada pequeña
1 brócoli pequeño
Sal al gusto
Ingredients
1 ½ precooked corn flour
1 small carrot
1 small beet
1 small broccoli
Salt to taste
Preparación
En un bol vierte 1 ½ taza de agua, la harina y sal al gusto, amasa hasta obtener una mezcla homogénea, libre de grumos. Divide la masa en tres porciones iguales y reserva, como podrás observar en la imagen la zanahoria le proporciona un color amarillo, la remolacha rosada y el brócoli verde.
Raya la zanahoria y la remolacha. Vierte el brócoli en una olla y cubre con agua, déjalo hervir por 5 minutos, retira del fuego y cuela, espera que se enfrié para triturarlo. Seguidamente, agrega a cada porción de masa el vegetal y amasa hasta que este uniforme.

In a bowl pour 1 ½ cup of water, the flour and salt to taste, knead until you obtain a homogeneous mixture, free of lumps. Divide the dough into three equal portions and set aside, as you can see in the image the carrot gives it a yellow color, the beet pink and the broccoli green.
Grate the carrot and beet. Pour the broccoli in a pot and cover with water, let it boil for 5 minutes, remove from heat and strain, wait for it to cool down to mash it. Next, add the vegetable to each portion of dough and knead until uniform.
Luego, forma las arepas y cocínalas en budare hasta que estén doradas y cocidas por dentro, recuerda el truco que les compartir en otra receta, para saber si falta cocción (dale un golpecito utilizando los dedos índices, medio, anular; si suena hueco está lista para retirar de la estufa).
Then, form the arepas and cook them in budare until they are golden brown and cooked inside, remember the trick I shared in another recipe, to know if they are undercooked (tap them using your index, middle and ring fingers; if they sound hollow, they are ready to be removed from the stove).
Por último, con ayuda de un cuchillo abre las arepas y rellena a tu gusto; en mi caso las rellené con queso mozzarella y jamón ahumado; ¡la verdad! quedan muy deliciosas. ¿has probado arepas de colores? ¿cuál es tu favorita?
