Being curious is a very natural habit of humans, and all of us have the habit since we came to this world. We don't know many things, and our curiosity leads us to explore and know more about a thing. Whatever we know, it's all because of curiosity. Even discoveries and inventions are the results of curiosity. If humans were not curious, there would be no transport, the internet, and all the developed technology we have now.
In many cases, curiosity is a good thing, as it can bring good output for us. But sometimes our curiosity brings trouble for us. In my entire life, I have suffered many times for my curiosity, but I shared most of those incidents on this Hive platform. So, today I'm going to share how the curiosity of my cousin brought trouble for us in our childhood time, and it was quite risky, and we might lose our lives also.
I can't remember my exact age when the incident occurred. I just can remember that I was very little, and it was hard for me to understand the potential risk of many things. For a child, fire is always an interesting thing, and playing with fire is the desire of a child, but our parents always protect us from fire because it's very risky, but it never stops us from being curious about it more.
To make a fire, our parents used to use a matchbox, and the way of making fire was quite interesting, at least for me. At that time, I was so little that I didn't know how to make a fire with the sticks of a matchbox. Firstly, our parents never allowed us to do so, and secondly, I didn't know the procedure. It was the same for my one-year-younger cousin, but he was quite observant about it.
One day, he found the matchbox on a road while returning from school, and after that, he informed me he was going to make a fire with it. Our mothers were busy in the kitchen, and at that time, he brought some haystacks into their drawing room. In the beginning, he tried to make a fire, and he failed for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, and I left the place because I thought he could not make the fire. After some time he became successful in making fire, and on the fire he threw the foam of the sofa also.
He immediately run to me and told me what had happened, and I was also curious to see what actually happened. After reaching there, I saw the fire was burning everything, and seeing that, I was quite excited. To see the fire, both of us were happy because it was an impossible thing for us to make a fire. I was so excited that I ran to my mother to say what happened. They didn't understand at the beginning, and they also reached the spot to see it, and seeing that, they were frightened because everything was burning in that room.
Immediately, they called others and stopped the fire, but most of the things in that room were burned. I think the curiosity of how to make fire is reasonable for it, and we are fortunate enough not to be burned by fire. I think my excitement to share about it with my mother helped to inform them about the fire; otherwise, our full house might have burned because of it.
