I'm experimenting with different makeup style and douyin style is one of the styles I really want to practice more. Usually when I try to learn, I look at videos and photos and to study how they do it but makeup isn't as simple as just copying what others do. You'd have to know what eye and eyelid shape you have to know which direction or eyeliner style works best for you, colors, lashes style, etc. It takes time to be able to figure those out and of course a lot of practice as well. :D
I'm using my Judydoll palette in #15 Pink taro grey brown as a main palette. This shade will be used as a base and I find this shade really nice on my skin since it's cool toned and not too dark either. The first time I tried this palette, I was having a hard time seeing it on my eyes because I was blinded by my lights... I have since learned to turn down the brightness and I am able to see them well now haha.
Aside from the style and placement of the colors, I have to know the proper brush to use as well. Sure makeup has no rules but there are certain stuff that will enhance your features or will make your eyes completely different or look weird. Using the proper brushes for different purposes is important.
This one I'm using the Natasha Denona Retro eyeshadow palette to deepen the outer corners of the eyes.
Then this shade to sort of have a nice transition from the dark shade to the
Then the lightest shade to lighten the inner corners.
After that, I used micellar water on a tiny brush to erase the rest of the eyeshadows to 'sharpen' the edges.
I chose a shimmer that is quite close to cool brown since that's what I'm aiming for. I want the gray brown look.
Then I used this brown as my liner for the under eyes. I really like having these lines underneath the eyes to open them up and also to emphasize the shape and I find it really good on me. The shape should also depend on what you're aiming for and it's very crucial to know the right shape as well.
Then I'm using my favorite Judydoll contour palette to highlight and contour areas. In douyin, there is a hard emphasis on the eyes and contour on the nose and middle part of the face is necessary.
Here, I am adding the light shade on the inner corners of my eyes and also on the bridge and tip of the nose.
Then you go hard on nose contour.
A highlight on the under eyes is also necessary to make the eyes look bigger so I am adding that as well.
My favorite part is adding this intense liquid glitter eyeshadow. It's still from Judydoll and I really like how glittery it is, something hard to achieve with a powder glitter.
Then using this shade for a blush. It's very subtle and just right for my skin tone.
I am doing this makeup with an emphasis on the eyes but I still tried to put shadows on the lips anyway. This is to give it a more pouty look.
Douyin lips are not as easy as just adding lipstick lol but I just did it like this since I'm focusing on the eyes for now.
Usually, they will put concealers, contour, then use two different lipsticks - one light and one darker - and they also apply it in a strategic way... To blur the lines while also adding the darker shade in a way to shape it. Douyin lips always look full, shaped, and not flat. Something I will practice on next time. :D

I really like this eyeliner style and I find it best for my eyes but it's not easy to do either. I have semi hooded eyelids so I have to always keep that in mind when doing the liners.
I also added fake lashes that are clumped which you apply individually and not just all at once. I find this way easier and it looks better.
Also I forgot to apply contact lenses which is also a big part of douyin makeup haha.
Also yeah it's a wig and I like this one since the forehead looks natural. :D
